Estate planning isn't just another practice area—it's a calling that demands excellence. Excellence requires a firm foundation in fundamentals that are not often taught. In the past, fundamentals were often learned through practice, experience, and mentorship. However, opportunities for on-the-job training have waned.

Modern estate planning offers unparalleled opportunities to transform clients' legacies while building a sophisticated, high-impact practice that few other areas can match. But here's the reality: the complexity is accelerating, the stakes are rising, and half-measures won't cut it.

Whether you're a new practitioner thrust into estate planning responsibilities or an experienced professional making a deliberate pivot, you're facing a fundamental choice. Estate planning is a high-speed train gaining momentum every day. You can either master the controls and drive it forward, or get left behind at the station.

Who Are We?

We are practitioners with many years of estate planning experience in both the practice of law, and in wealth management. We are also tenured instructors of estate planning. Through our collective experience teaching estate planning in preparation programs for candidates for the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation, we discovered that this curriculum – while intended for financial advisors - creates a great foundation for attorneys and other practitioners as well. As a result, we decided to tweak this curriculum to cover the foundational knowledge needed by any estate planner like you, whether new or experienced. Much like sports require you to learn and continuously practice fundamentals, you can consider this course to be a collection of the knowledge and frameworks we wish we had access to when we were new to practice.

Importantly, we are here to strike a middle ground. Many estate planning CLEs present isolated concepts in a piecemeal manner, while taking for granted that you have not learned the all the fundamentals needed to completely and holistically understand the content. On the other hand, some content can be too basic. We are not here to spoon-feed you elementary principles, but we are also not here to show off our technical skills. We are here to help you be better by teaching you what we wish we would have known early on, while also highlighting some connections and points that have helped our students over several years of instruction.

Save valuable time: Instead of spending hours personally training each new hire on foundational concepts, let this comprehensive course handle the fundamentals

Maximize billable hours: Reduce the cost of writing off billable time as part of on-the-job training—this course provides structured learning that gets your team productive faster

Exceptional value: At just $350 (early bird), this course is a bargain compared to the dozens of hours you'd otherwise spend training each new employee yourself

💡 Invest in your team's foundation and free up your time for higher-level mentorship and strategic guidance

Course Structure

This course is divided into two instructional modules of 3 hours each. In Module 1, we will cover many of the basics you need to know on any given day as an estate planner. In Module 2, instead of teaching you everything you need to know about advanced planning (especially for tax and asset protection), we will teach you the high-level frameworks needed to help you know where to look when handling advanced planning cases.

All attendees receive a copy of course materials, and a copy of the webinar recording
